Gabriella (Gabby) Berger joined the UDCFA organization because she felt as though in today’s world, we need more younger people to stand up for a cause they believe in.
She feels passionate about the UDCFA because over the years she has known many people with either economic disadvantages and/or disabilities who struggle to get the help they need. Many organizations that specialize in helping the underprivileged are underfunded, and rely on the help of non-profit organizations to keep their research going.
When Sana Abbas came to her with the idea of starting this organization, she was immediately enthralled with the idea, and the hope that it could change lives for the better. The reason she took this position was due to the fact that she has been a part of organizations like these in the past. She is a 4 year member of the National Charity League, a national charity organization with chapters all over the world.
Brendan Tan is a research director at the UDCFA.
After hearing about the organization when it was first formed, he joined the team in 2024, believing that this opportunity would allow him to contribute to a great cause with a global reach, while also giving him the experience of an organized work environment.
As someone who enjoys the process of diving into various topics, he found the role of research director appealing, which provides the organization information to make crucial decisions.
In his free time, he can be found playing tennis or piano.
Georgia Papavassiliou is one of our social media managers and she joined the UDCFA organization because of its mission.
She has always strongly believed that helping others was her purpose in life. Whether that is in school or her everyday life, there is nothing more rewarding than helping another person in a time of need. The UDCFA allowed her to use her time to make a change and to focus her attention on something useful. In a way, she sees the work the UDCFA does as beneficial not only to disabled children but also to the members as well, helping them become more altruistic.
She feels passionate about helping others because she wants the world to accommodate everybody. To her, it is not fair to wake up each morning and have to worry about whether you can get to your destination due to a lack of measures taken to accommodate those with a disability. Nobody should ever feel like their disability is a burden to others. We are here to change that!
The reason why Georgia chose to be part of this organization is because of its passion for ensuring that every kid’s childhood is preserved and that every kid gets to experience life to the fullest.
She originally found out about the UDCFA from our founder, Sana Abbas! When she explained to her what the organization was about and her mission, Georgia was on board. Sana’s dedication and excitement to extending her help to kids around the world solidified Georgia’s interest in joining her organization even more.
Her position in the UDCFA is as a social media manager. The reason she took this position was because she has experience in social media marketing and thought that this was the perfect opportunity to enhance that skill. Social media is a great way to spread the word about the UDCFA’s mission and get more members to join the community and Georgia felt confident that she could handle that responsibility!
Hannah joined the UDCFA because she has always had a love for helping people who are in need.
Getting the opportunity to be a part of this organization will allow her to contribute to a website that will allow people to help others.
She first heard about the UDCFA whenever it was up-and-coming, and soon realized that it had the capabilities to change lives for the better.
Hannah wants to be a part of something like this, especially in its beginning stages, so that she can have as much say in it as possible.
Harrison is a student in Austin, Texas. He is proud to be a member of the UDCFA because he is interested in finding new ways to help those around him.
He is excited to be working with his peers on this, as he believes that a united effort can have a positive impact on the world.
He has a background of volunteering in his local community, and is excited to now be a part of something that will have an impact around the globe.
Nina Urban joined UDCFA because she wanted to use her time and skills to aid people that need it.
She hopes to be helpful to this nonprofit and make a difference in the lives of disabled children. Joining UDCFA in May of 2024, she is currently a content writer. She enjoys writing and is glad to be able to put this to good use.
Nina first learned about UDCFA once it had had time to become organized since its establishment. This made it appealing to her because she doesn’t have that much experience with being a part of something like UDCFA and she didn’t have to be a part of any difficult decisions that come with starting an organization quite yet.
Nina sees UDCFA as a way to both get experience to be able to do more later in her career and to start helping others. She is ready to help in any way that she can for the sake of UDCFA and the children we are helping.
As a content writer, she isn’t directly involved with everything and is only working behind the scenes a lot of the time, but she still feels as though what she is doing is beneficial to the organization and will strive to become more intimately connected to UDCFA with some time.
For now Nina’s top priority is just to do her job as best as she can and raise awareness, so that UDCFA is able to continue helping people in need.
Quinn Evans is the Assistant Research Director for UDCFA. He joined in January 2024 after Sana Abbas told him about it.
He enjoys working in the organization because there are always more people to help in the world and even doing a good deed for a small sector helps us reach closer to utopia.
Quinn strongly believes that nobody should go without the help they deserve, especially when the resources are available and through UDCFA he can connect some of the most vulnerable people to the help that they need. Though he has not done research for a non profit organization before he has worked on other projects that involve research and reaching out to other organizations and is excited to gain more knowledge in this field.
Sofia initially joined the United Disabled Children’s Foundation of America because of her passion for graphic design and her desire to contribute meaningfully to her community.
When she found UDCFA, she saw an opportunity to apply her creative skills to support a good cause by promoting the organization’s publicity through designing social media posts. As the organization began to formally come together with its first events, the prospect of making a difference in childrens’ lives became even more exciting.
Sofia continues to be involved in the organization as she runs its twitter account and works with other members to create posts that spread the word about upcoming events, information about the organization’s cause, and ways to support it.
This is Vince Vegas, and he joined the UDCFA because of his desire to help serve underrepresented members of his community and those beyond.
He believes that children with disabilities shouldn’t be limited with what they can do and experience in their lives.
After hearing about the goals of the UDCFA, he thought that the organization was set to make serious changes in this area. He took on his role as a social media manager because he enjoys the creative aspect of designing social media posts, and also has current experience as a social media marketer for a local animal shelter.
He is passionate about sharing knowledge of the organization digitally with the widespread use of social media platforms as sources of news on important topics and events. He learned about the UDCFA from the non-profits founder, Sana Abbas, and he’s learning a lot about how coming together as a team can help change the lives of those frequently overlooked in their communities.
